French giants PSG are refusing to give up

on N’Golo Kante even though Chelsea have

offered a massive new deal that would see

him become their squad's top earner.

The World Cup-winning France

international has established himself as

the best midfielder on the planet following

a meteoric, trophy-laden rise over the last

five years with Leicester, the Blues and his

national team.

He is now on course to become the best

paid player at Stamford Bridge, with

Chelsea tabling a new five-year deal worth

ÂŁ290,000-a-week.

But PSG have the finance to trump even

that offer and to test the west Londoners’

determination to hold on to their star man.

Kante has been their no.1 summer target

since the recruitment of new boss

Thomas Tuchel.

Tuchel has this week refused to be drawn

on the speculation regarding Paris native

Kante — who is entering his third season

at Chelsea.

“It is not fair and I do not like, and I do not

like it if other coaches talk about

situations of players who are playing for

other clubs,” said Tuchel. “So there is no

comment on Kante, of course, not for the

transfer window.”
